Each 10 foot pickup section is independently controlled from the tractor cab. You can run one section, two sections or the entire 30 foot continuous merger.
All controls for engaging, raising and lowering pickup heads are done from the tractor
One tractor hydraulic valve is used to supply hydraulic oil to functions operated by the "in-cab" control box. A second tractor hydraulic valve is used to control pickup head gauge wheels
In-cab controller
Merge to the right or left with 30 feet of continuous conveyors, and change direction with the convenient in-cab controller. You can also merge in both directions at the same time. The controller also allows the operator to engage or disengage any of all of the three pick up sections, and fold the sections for transport. |
Pickup heads
With 30 feet of continuous pickup, the operator can drive in any direction in the field without leaving strips of hay behind. Poly tine guards are flexible and retain their shape. Gauge wheels are steel rollers (no more flats), and height is hydraulically adjustable from the tractor. Heads are designed to hydraulically float in uneven terrain.
State of the art conveyors
Conveyors have a large throat area with wind guards. The three rubber belts are 35in wide, cleated for better crop flow and bolted together with heavy gauge steel hinges. Conveyor rollers are fluted and an impressive 6in diameter. The large diameter fluted roller and the heavy steel hinge extend the life of the belt. The roller serves as the driver, idler and automatic tensioner, and uses replaceable 1¼ inch bearings.
Hitch and frame
The 310 mounts to the tractor's lower 3-point hitch arms on a category II, III, narrow or III hitch. The frame doubles as the hydraulic oil reservoir. Maneuverable Auto Steer rear wheels allows the merger to follow windrows while turning. Flotation tires are 16.5x16.1 10 ply. Most tractor quick hitches adapt easily. |
Folded for transport
The model 310 has a compact transport configuration. The operator has rear visibility through the center of the folded unit.
Hydraulic operation and control
Triple hydraulic pumps operate each of the 10 foot header sections independently. The pump assembly is attached to a speedup gear box to obtain proper pump rpm and to protect the hydraulic pumps from PTO shaft forces. The 1000rpm constant velocity PTO shaft prevents vibrations while turning. This high capacity self-contained hydraulic system (64 gallons of oil) operates so efficiently, there is not need for an external cooler. Most hydraulic fittings are Parker™
industrial flat face with O-ring seals, virtually leak-free.
Bearings
All bearings for the conveyor rollers, gauge wheels and center reel hub are the same part number bearing.
