Swing hitch
Oxbo's 918 merger features a swing hitch that adds field versatility. You can position the tractor directly in front of the power merger to straddle the swath (move outside swaths inward) or to position the tractor off the left side for better operator visibility and to keep the tractor wheels off the crop. You can fine tune for hilly conditions. The 918 includes mechanical lock device for transport or field use and the swing tongue is 6 inch structural tubing and serves as the hydraulic reservoir.
Self-contained hydraulic system
A 540 RPM or 1000 RPM PTO mounted pump with a 22 gallon hydraulic oil reservoir powers the cross conveyors and the pickup heads. The Oxbo 918 operates so efficiently there is no need for an oil cooler. Oxbo designed the 918 to take load and heat off the tractor's hydraulic system. |
Forward tilted, 35 inch wide conveyor
The 35 inch conveyor provides for gentle handling and a smoother transition of crop from the pickup to the conveyor and allows the crop to utilize the entire belt width. The 918 features molded rubber cleats to move the hay with a molded V-belt on the bottom side. The 918 also features solid steel rollers with 1¼" greaseable bearings which are crowned with a center V-groove for excellent belt tracking.
Conveyor crank style tension adjustment
The 918 utilizes a convenient opening crank that is easy to use without tools. It can be loosened for quick cleaning and used for releasing belt tension for storage. The crank is used on both the main conveyor and the optional extension. |
The Oxbo 918 is available with an optional 4 or 5 foot extension making it the most versatile power merger available. Merge with the base machine only (extension folded up) for swath widths of 9 to 12 feet. Merge with teh 4-foot extension unfolded for swaths of 13 to 18 feet. Or, merge with the 5-foot extension unfolded for swaths of 18 to 21 feet.
Extension hydraulically folds out of the way and automatically shuts off
With the conveyor extension folded, the main conveyor can still run unobstructed. This position works for mower conditioners up to 12 feet or ideal for laying hay on dry ground with wider mower conditioners.
Versatility
The 4 foot conveyor extension is used for 13 to 18 foot mower conditioners. For 18 to 21 feet, the 5 foot extension is used. The extension is tilted slightly upward for ease of placing one windrow on top of another. Place one windrow on top of another in one pass, or two windrows on top of a third in two passes.
Engaging the conveyor extension
Engaging the conveyor extension creates a positive, stable position lock. The stop is adjustable to control the pitch of the conveyor for accurate windrow placement. |
