Multi-stage lift system
When encountering a field condition such as an embankment, obstruction or a merged windrow, the Avalanche's multi-stage lift system allows the operator several lifting options. The first stage of lift raises the pick up assembly off the ground (requires optional lift cylinder for left side pickup). This features can also be used to raise tines in severely uneven ground conditions. In the second stage, the conveyor assemble raises level, maintaining a horizontal position. THis is followed by the third stage lift, which raises the entire pickup/conveyor assemble, arching toward its fully folded position.
Extra strength 8inx12in structural tubing main frame
Overhead center pivot for side to side flotation and four walking bean axles with flotation tires under the conveyor system smooth out travel over uneven terrain. Pickup assemblies float independently from conveyors and are spring loaded with gauge wheels.
Built in flexibility
Pickup headers and conveyor assemblies are hinged at two different locations to allow for great flexibility in changing terrain conditions.
Extra capacity conveyors are outfitted with 35 inch laced belts.
Adjustable swath pickup
Swath pickup is adjustable for 14, 15 or 16ft centers. The model 1800 has an 18ft pickup configuration. Both models feature extra wide pickup capacity with dual 7ft 6in pickup heads. |
Weight distribution
Merging often needs to be done when ground conditions are softer than ideal. Under those conditions, it is important that the weight of the machine be distributed as evenly as possible. Miller 1416 and 1800 mergers distribute the weight almost equally between the tractor and the transport wheels. During merging the weight is distributed over 16 wheels for a smooth ride, low compaction and fewer ruts in the field.
Pick up heads
The wide 7ft 6in pickup heads can be easily adjusted to be centered on 14, 15 or 16 foot windrow configurations. Hydraulic width adjustment is optional. The model 1800 has an 18ft fixed configuration. There are accessible lubrication points on all moving parts. Hydraulic hose routing is clean and simple.
Conveyor belt tightener
The unique over center belt tightener system make maintenance very quick and easy. This feature is also ideal for releasing belt tension for storage.
Conveyor settings
Conveyor settings (A, B and C) conform to windrow widths. Merging direction can easily be adjusted by releasing a spring loaded pin and moving conveyor along roller track to the prescribed setting.
Transport lighting
Two amber full width lights flash front, back and from the sides and are positioned at the full transport width. Two flashers are mounted at the rear of teh machine and flash both front and back. Two red tail lamps are positioned at the rear and there is reflective tape on all sides of the mcahine. |
Maneuverable auto steering
Steerable rear wheels are controlled by front 2pt hitch yoke which makes handling odd shaped fields and square headland corners easier. It also helps in negotiating tight headland turns and returning on adjacent rows.
Cool running hydraulic system
The twin 1000rpm commercial grade hydraulic pumps are attached to a speedup gearbox to obtain proper pump speed and to protect the hydraulic pumps from PTO shaft forces. A constant velocity PTO shaft prevents vibrations while turning. One pump operates the left side and a second operates the right side. This high capacity self-contained hydraulic system (50 gallons of oil) operates so efficiently, there is no need for an external oil cooler.
Most hydraulic fittings are Parker industrial flat face with O-ring seals, virtually leak free.
The tractor's only hydraulic requirement is for two low-flow hydraulic valves, one to fold the left side and one to fold the right.
Simple folding mechanism
The simple folding mechanism for a transport width of 14 feet 2 inches makes travel from field to field and on the road more convenient. Pickup wings fold independently and can be partially lifted from the tractor seat to allow clearance of odd rows or obstacles.
Hitch yoke
The hitch yoke attaches to the lower 3-poin hitch arms of the tractor. The yoke being connected to the auto steer feature allows for great maneuverability in tight fields. Most tractor quick hitches adapt easily |
